Dog liability insurance and ownership training in Spain

Spain’s Law 7/2023 provides for training for dog owners and liability insurance. Specific obligations also require checking implementing rules and the legislation applicable to the animal and place of residence.

Before taking out insurance

Check who is insured, covered damage, exclusions, the limit and policy period. A general reference to insurance does not establish whether your situation is covered.

Keep the policy, correspondence and claim documents. Seek advice if you are unsure about cover before accepting an insurer’s decision.
